but where do we go from here?

As of writing, the semi-historic Writer's Guild strike seems to be coming to a victorious end. 👏

If you don't know what that means, I hope you at least know what generative AI is. (If not, please consult your nearest search engine with the word “ChatGPT” and come back to me)

Writing is arguably an essential human skill.

Now the term "writing" encompasses a lot. Scripting, poetry, speech writing, programming, brainstorming, storytelling...But perhaps more importantly...

Writing is how we organize our thoughts.

In the coming years, I imagine writing will Divenire a dying art form. Anyone using ChatGPT can create content at more than triple the rate of a trained writer. With the right prompting, that AI content can be just as good if not better than. The artist community is already swimming in despair due to AI art.

Which is one of the big reasons the strike existed and its very obvious why it is bad.

But what about social settings? Do you think there will be a "conversation assistant" that will listen in to the conversation around us and provide us with…better responses?

I think it is a definite possibility.

So what will that psychologically do to our brains, if we just delegate the task of talking to people? Remove ourselves from the discussion?
